Quadrant Estates secures TAPI Carpets for Great Western Retail Park

Oct 08, 2015

Quadrant Estates, asset manager for Great Western Retail Park, Glasgow has secured a new tenant for the park. TAPI Carpets has taken a 10-year lease on Unit 6 (10,000 sq ft) on the park at a headline rent of £22.00 per sq ft. TAPI will commence trading in October 2015.

Tapi is one of the UK’s leading carpet and flooring specialists and this is their second store to open in Scotland in the last two months with other showrooms in Tooting, Ipswich, Cambridge, Great Yarmouth, Gloucester, Cannock, St Albans, Nursling and Uddingston. This is part of the company’s rapid expansion programme with a further 200 stores to be acquired in the next four years.

Great Western Retail Park is located in a prime location approximately six miles north west of Glasgow City Centre and is accessible by car and train. It comprises over 200,000 sq ft of retail warehousing with parking for 1,375 cars. The park has a strong retail mix with tenants including B&Q Warehouse, Currys / PC World, Harveys, B&M, SCS, Wren Kitchens and Carpetright.

James Bidwell, partner at Quadrant Estates commented:

“We are delighted to welcome TAPI to the Great Western Retail Park as it is a great addition to our existing strong retail line up. This latest letting will help to drive further footfall and widen the draw of the Park. The Park is proving to be an attractive option to quality occupiers due to the combination of its location and strong trading performance of the existing retailers. We are continuing to enhance the overall scheme and works are set to start on site next year to build restaurant pods and improve parking and landscaping. This is all part of our business plan to ensure Great Western remains a major retailing destination in North West Glasgow.”

Smart 4 and JLL acted for Quadrant Estates on the letting and Harvey Spack Field acted for TAPI.
